Kaniyan finds that it is a 9mm bullet which had been ricocheted from Nemo. Naveen gives them the bullet from Nemo’s body. One day, a schoolboy Naveen (Master Nishesh) visits Kaniyan and Manohar with a case that his pet Pomeranian Nemo was shot dead and asks them to find the killer. They both come across Mallika (Anu Emmanuel). The plot shifts to detective Kaniyan Pongundran (Vishal), who lives with his associate Manohar (Prasanna). At a movie theatre, a man gropes a woman, and a small commotion ensues, which was stopped by ACP Paul Dhanarajan (Aadukalam Naren). A sudden lightning strike kills him and his son.
The film starts with Dhivakar (Vincent Asokan) and his family celebrating his birthday. To Chitti’s surprise, the crow is unable to penetrate the field of transmitters and suffers damage while attempting to do so. Chitti traces the mobile phones, which have taken the form of a giant crow, and they fight, during which Chitti’s battery power is depleted and it starts searching for a power source amongst three huge signal transmitters. Vijay Kumar, the Home Minister, unofficially gives Vaseegaran permission to rebuild Chitti. The growing stream of cell phones leave havoc in its path, killing a mobile phone wholesaler Jayanth Kumar, a transmission tower owner Ranjit Lulla and the state’s telecom minister Vaira Moorthy. But Dhinendra Bohra, who lost his father, Professor Bohra, to Chitti’s anger, opposes, and the council decides to seek help from the military, thereby vetoing Vaseegaran’s proposal. At an emergency council meeting initiated by the government, Vaseegaran enunciates that it is beyond conventional science to fight what he considers a fifth force, and proposes reinstating Chitti, which was dismantled in 2010. Before long, cell phones all over Chennai begin to fly away, leaving the city in chaos. A little later, a student’s smartphone starts flying all on a sudden, exhibiting avian characteristics. Elsewhere, the scientist Vaseegaran introduces Nila, his new humanoid robot, to a group of students. But a week flashback, poor placement of songs, convenient turns in the story and a dragging climax dampen the overall impact.A man, surrounded by birds, hangs himself to death at a cell tower. The second does retains the momentum to a large extent and the fantasy element retained throughout offers many surprising moments. Towards the interval the film picks up momentum and we put on our seat belts expecting a racy and entertaining second half. But there are interesting moments here and there thanks to the presence of Vijay and fantasy based ideas like dwarf people, speaking bird, a giant tortoise, black cheetah fight etc.
But what follows are usual elements like romance, comedy etc loyally following the commercial agenda and they offer nothing new except that the film is set in a different place and characters wear different costumes. He also sets the tone for a fantasy film with the initial voice over and how Marudheeran (Vijay) reaches the tribal village as a kid with strange powers. 'Puli' is the story how Marudheeran (Vijay) saves the innocent people of his tribal village from the clutches of a demoniac klngdom ruled by Yavana Rani (Sridevi) who Is controlled by the wicked Thalapathy Jalatharangan (Sudeep).ĭirector Chimbudevan starts off his film with the detailing of the background of a kingdom with super powers and the travails of the tribal villages coming under its regimel.
